History

The first couple of organizational meetings were held at the Loxley Civic Center in late May of 2008.  Elmer McDaniel from the Baldwin County Board of Education spoke about the need for a Foundation in Central Baldwin County.  Many of the principals that would be part of this new Foundation were in attendance. Leigh Ann Overstreet, principal of Delta Elementary School, came to the first meeting and talked about the formation of North Baldwin’s Foundation.  She listed the requirements of forming a foundation and the paperwork required to become a foundation.  All in attendance were excited that Central Baldwin would finally have a foundation to represent the seven schools in this area.   Committees were formed to work on the foundation’s name, by-laws, fundraising, and nomination of the first officers.  Attorney, Joseph Shaw finalized all of the paperwork for the foundation Pro Bono.  By July 7, 2008 Central Baldwin Educational Foundation was formed and its first officers were installed.
